Come On Eileen!....tanks for the memories!

You could rent an open loft with tons of space for old motorcycles or an old garage/ gas station with a house out back... (my dream)

Hell yeah. she's looking like a motorcycle. Brandon and I have simultaneously kicked into high gear on our respective projects. Expect a large update on Dolores soon too. Keep it up bro. It's gonna be the poo!

Good luck with the move. I had to deal with a move last fall and I bet we didn't get totally unpacked for 6 months! :D Everything took a back seat. Plus, we had a little girl in Oct. My wife's big goal was to be settled in before the birth! I do not want to live through that again. I was able to do a little bit of work on my cafe tank over the winter, but not much. Some of the time after the move was also spent building my work bench. That was fun, though. I never realized how stressful moving was. I used to think my parents were nuts carrying on the way they did! :D

How are you planning on removing the foam once glassed? Acetone?

I'm guessing it'll be forever trapped inside as this'll just be the tank that the mold is made from. After that he'll use the mold to make copy after copy for all and any of the DTT brethren that wants one ;)

Ohhhh, here I wasn't thinking in the right dimension, thats step one to making the buck that the mold will me made from. then the actual tank will be laid in the mold... Got it. THANKS!
I was thinking twisted was going to lay the glass right on that then try and remove the foam from inside the tank....Duh. ::)

Well he could have just added petrol to it which would dissolved the foam. If you then you set fire to that it makes a wonderful display and burns a long time so that could be how you get that mix out the tank...except it would burn the tank away too....

try acetone, it softens the glass up though

I will not be using the buck to make a mold in order to replicate the tank, I will be laying the fiber glass right on the buck however I am making it in three parts then assybling it as I explained earlier. This will be a one off tank. As far the tail, I may make it a bit larger, i have been contemplating that. Thanks far all the looks and comments guys!

Naww, so serious bud. Was just muckin round yeah ;)

I still think you should burn off the foam by mixing it with petrol :D

Brandon, looking great! nice shapes there. I am curious about your tank building process so please document well!!

good luck with the move. With the tank you may want to consider covering the entire mold with aluminum hvac tape, its strong enough to take out alot of the imperfections and releases the fiber glass fairly well, because no matter what you are going to have to sand/fill/sand......., also for the bottom half it may be eaiser to use the botom of the stock tank as your mold, fits on the frame no prob. Lastly check your clipons/clubmans for contact with the new tank. keep it up

That tank/seat combo looks great.
Acetone or fuel to melt out the foam will work, just pour out the goop afterwards. If you are doing it in three pieces, just chip out the excess than swish with acetone.
Than swish with Bushmills for yourself on a job well done ;).

I LOVE the front end on your bike! Tank and seat seem to be looking awesome too....great build man!
