Covid as a catalyst

Covid Lockdown gave me the time for my Scruffy Racer project, but also helped me crystalise my thoughts on work : I dont want to work any more !

so my work here is done.

i’ve signed up for a voluntary redundancy package and my last day is 30/9

meantime i’ve ridden my GS850 down to Denia to meet Kedr, via the santander ferry and An 800km ride !

then Kedr will enjoy a jaunt over to Palma via Ibiza

this is better than working !

Nice, I sadly have worked straight through covid and need to for 20+ more years unless I win the lottery LOL. Congrats!

Congrats! I'm at that point where I'm almost hoping for another round of layoffs so I can suggest they choose me... the severance would carry me through to when I was planning on leaving anyway!

X2 .... I'm waiting for the voluntary lay off option. If that one is as lucrative as the involuntary lay offs, I could potentially walk away with 8-9 months severance. Full pay. That sure would be nice.

Would think of something else in the mean time. I really hate the job at this point and most of the people there.

Well, that never happened .... waited and waited, but i guess i just wasn't shitty enough to make the cut.

In the end, just ended up finding a new job for more money and better benefits

I am THIS CLOSE to making it work. I've been told my position is going away, and I turned down their offer of a transfer... but they haven't sent me packing yet. Get on with it already!

Congrats on the new job!

Fingers crossed then !

Good luck!!!! I've been officially retired for about 5 years. Everyday is Saturday!

Jealous! I'm only 35 now. Hoping to be retired at 55.
Have some investments in real estate, some in RRSP (401k equivalent) and new job comes with a government pension ...... so hoping it should be enough by 55 to say "see ya later".
