Custom Drilled Rotors and Drilling Templates

As many of you may already know, I spend my 9 to 5 as a computer programmer. When it came time to drill my rotors, I took the familiar approach and wrote a computer program to generate the template for me.

I figured that I could share the love and also maybe pay for my time in writing the software if I were to offer it as a service and so here I am.

I can generate a template for anyone who wants one for $10. I'll then email the generated image to you and you can drill your own rotors. DXF format is also available for you CAD types.

Supposing you don't have a drill press, I'd be happy to drill the rotors for you as well at $25 per rotor plus shipping.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Here's a pic of my own rotors done with a template I generated.

"When the only tool you have is a hammer, the world looks like a nail."

Need to update that quote to include "computer" and "program" lol

Fair enough, but a computer is one of those tools that can serve a variety of purposes.

I love computers. The ultimate Swiss Army knife in a way. I started on a TI99/4a in 1983. 300 baud modem. That was the fast one, the other choice was 110 baud.

There are 7 computers in my house right now and that does not include iPads, iPhones, android phones or tablets.

What you really need is a CNC machine so your programs do the drilling too. :)

These are appealing because I can do it myself! Cafe racer by numbers? Haha

For real though, those are nice. I might hit you up soon

Sonreir, I have a spare rotor I'd like to try drilling myself. What info do you need in order to generate a template?

I'll need the diameter of the rotor and the width of the braking area. A general idea of what you have in mind for the pattern would help, too. :)

Updated to the original post. I can offer the rotor pattern in a DXF file format for those with CAD programs they like to use.

Yours look so nice, I might just send mine to you. I have a press, just not sure how to get that nice chamfer.
