just thought i'd share this awesome RD350, a 1981 i gather. Not sure what german magazine this came from.

has anyone seen this before, know where it came from? sure would like to read a build thread on something like this

found at: http://blog.derestricted.com/motorcycles/yamaha-rd350-lc-1981/

Front fender is on correctly. Trimmed at the back for rad clearance under full fork compression. A lot of the road racers do this eg RG500's, Yamaha TZ's starting with the J Model in the '80's, most of the RS Hondas.

Not being a Yamaha "expert", is that an RD or a RZ? I believe the North American RZ was labelled RD in Europe. I also know some crazies have put liquid cooled cylinders on air cooled RD's too! ;D So, what's the story here? ???

By the shape of the gas tank, I'm guessing it's an "air cooled" RD frame converted to a "mono" , but hey, what do I really know?! :p Not much. :)

In any case, cool build! I love it! 8) 8) I'm sure someone will straighten me out here! :D

RD350LC would be the designation. Looks like it's running an RD400 tank. Definitely an LC rear swinger. If Neal chimes in he could tell ya a lot more!
