Cuttin' up a Ducati helmet to make a seat pod

It's not often you get to cut on something that costs more than your bike to make a new part for cheap! I decided I would use an old helmet, if i could find one for el cheapo, as the basis of a mold for a new removeable seat pod on the yx600. Well... a buddy said he had an old helmet I could have. I told him it would get cut up and he said fine. He brought it over and it is a limited run Ducati helmet from a few years ago and was almost $600 new  It was morbidly fun to cut that critter up!

The helmet was involved in a wreck at some point and retired... but it was still fun to cut it up!

I dont know about that..
Ive seen a bad German helmet chop used as cowl that ended up looking like some some german guys head partly up someones butt....ewww...
Not a pretty sight...

well, the act of cutting it and reshaping went well, really well... the only bad side? I didn't like it when I was done. So... I chopped it up again and will see where it leads.
