CZ 175

This is my son's first Cafe project. I think it came out looking really good. It's not quite finished yet, some details still to be done (including the rear shocks).
He was given the bike from a friend as a project. It was all original and hadn't run in probably 20 years. He stripped it down, painted it, removed about 20lbs of steel and got it up and running again.

The oil container is actually a steel walnut oil can with the red bull can glued over it. We soldered in a brass tube fitting and gave it a bit of stability with JB weld. You can't really notice it on the bike.

I'll track down the photos of the bike as we got it and post them.
One thing I never knew about CZ's till we got this one is that they have an automatic clutch after you pull away in first. There's a roller that disengages the clutch when you push/pull on the gear shift. It works great!

So awesome. My neighbor has a CZ that he loves (old dirt racer guy). I have done a few things with him on it. They are bitchin bikes. That's a cool bit about the clutch.

I really like the paint combination. One question: are those shocks long enough? From the pics, it looks like the tire will hit the frame/fender with the weight of a rider, let alone hitting a bump. I could be wrong. I just don't want someone to get hurt for the sake of a "look"

Yes, we checked that out and there is enough room. I agree it doesn't look that way though. We are rebuilding the shocks next and stiffer springs wouldn't be a good choice anyway.
