Been Around the Block
I got this bike in December, it looked decent, but soon the shortcomings of the wiring appeared. The wires to the chargingsystem were almost nonexistant,so when having to do the whole thing over, I decided to change the stock charging system out for a permenant magnet, which hold no brushes or has other wear parts.

Other things I have changed since I got the bike is, handlesbars, headlight, headlight ears, a few seals here and there, polished the fork legs.

So yesterday evening I wanted to synchronize the carburettors with a "carbtune", and when the two sticks appeared to be even, it just didn't sound right when standing behind it, the right side was limping in comparison, atleast, a different sound. Upon further examination the left hand side, which had a crispy exhaustnote also had a cracked header and loosely assembled joint between header and muffler. So the pictures are in fact already outdated as I've now taking the lefthand muffler off, trying to source a secondhand header or a completely new system, I really want the latter.

I've now given it its first long run of 150km. approximately. It ran fine, but there are some things which I need to address.

First, there's a noisy tappet, which need to be tightened a bit up.

A clutch which will need adjustment as all the action is too far out the lever travel for my comfort.

The idle was also quite low, but it didn't stall, just too low, so I was worried about insufficient oil pressure.

The carburettors will also need a tune-up as the right plug is sooty, where the left one is perfectly brown. So I am going to start with adjusting the air mix screws, then sync.

The front tire has a lot of life in ft, but has been mounted incorrectly, and been so for about 5 years, so truing it up was not possible. It jumps terribly at 50km/h., that and my new headstock bearings are a tad loose, so they're also getting a tightening.

I am very pleased with my converted chargingsystem, as I have 14,5 volts right off idle.

Ordered a pair of bronzebushings, but as I took it all apart, I found out that I already have bronzebushings, so that's all good.

I think that was all for now.

Looks like you've got everything covered ;)
Going for a more drastic makeover when it's running perfect?

I might do so, well not too drastic as I don't have a good history of keeping bikes for very long, just like to tinker with them. Well ride them too, but that is mostly for longer trips.

I would like a set of custom headers and a new paintjob.

Forgot to mention that I have an oil leak from threw pushrod seal, so I an changing the bush and the seal.

You may already know this but in case you don't… make sure you chamfer the edges of the case where the push rod seal goes in. They were originally installed with the cases split. I put approximately 3 /32 chamfer and then greased the seal to achieve leak free bliss.

I think 76-77, they ran those colours then. But as I live in Europe, this is a Euro model, so decals might differ. Atleast the twindisc does :)

Hmmmmm.......pretty stock looking to me. Is that a vintage cafe luggage rack? Must be made of helium to actually lighten the bike.

What else do we have.......

Yes it is, idiot. I prefer stock bikes over half-assed homemade junk.
