Someone already started a thread about this. And as expected it turned into an argument of sorts. Lets remember that a guy is DEAD. DECEASED. NO LONGER LIVING.

Certainly dont think that qualifies for "wry amusement".

Its cool Squad. Didnt mean to give you a hard time. We just all seem to be forgetting that a guy died here. Thats awful.

Even taking into consideration that the dude is dead and his family and friends are devistated it is indeed ironic that he was killed due to the lack of a helmit while in the act of protesting manditory use of the very helmits that might have saved his life.

Totally not related to THAT waste of print, but your road deaths are seriously bad. We have a poulation of @23million............road deaths are @ 1600. Not nice. I have lost friends and customers, its just horrendous.

Its a case of ......... it wont happen to me............But.... it does happen. And when it does, it will impact your life in a major way at some point, because the chances are in your lifetime, that someone you know will die as the result of a car/bike crash.

If more people got this through their thick skulls and listened, took notice and tried to be a better rider/driver, there would be much less grief and heartache.

Take this from someone that has lost friends to "so called accidents" It is seriously shattering, life changing and heartbreaking. And there is no coming back from that.
There are no such things as car/bike accidents. They are crashes. A lightning strike that kills a man is an accident. He had no control over that. Rear ending a car is a crash because the driver should have enough sense to maintain their equipment as well as pay attention and be prepared for situations. If our damn media would get it through THEIR thick skulls to report these crashes as crashes instead of accidents, maybe then people will start to stir in their stupor. Not to mention being required to sit for the written driving test every time they go to renew their driver's license. After all, a nurse is required to do continuing education of a minimum of 24 hours every two years to maintain their license and they use their occupational license on average 40hrs a week. Whereas they are driving an average of 20hrs a week assuming they commute to work in a car with them behind the wheel. And they do not need to do any "CE" hours for that.
