I just got my new Shift Vantage jacket in from Dennis Kirk and it came with a Schick hydro 5 razor. What the hell for I don't know, but I think it has something to do with saving my skin. Any ideas?
I ordered with them once. Big mistake. They didn't inform me that three of the things in my well over $200 order were on back order and that they hadn't shipped any of it. Then when I called to find out where my stuff was I asked for the order to be canceled so i could buy elsewhere and they still sent all the stuff that wasn't back ordered! It took over 4 months to get all my money back and everything sorted out properly and the entire time the sales people were rude.
(sorry for the rant I'm still a little raw on the ordeal I guess...)
El Granto, you're the second person I've heard complain about DK. Personally, I have never had a problem with their service at all.
When you order online, it should say how many items they have in stock. And it's listed again in re shopping cart before checkout. Did it say they had it in stock when they really didn't?
I don't think they had the stock counter when I ordered. It was probably two years ago now. It may also help to say that I'm in Canada and their shipping is by UPS so the shipping prices are steep and they charge duty on delivery.
Regardless I'm happy that we have DCC now cause they're better in every sense of the word as far as I'm concerned.
I didn't have any problems with my order, it was actually pretty smooth. I just wanted to know what was up with the razor, it's so strange to me. I hate shaving, this makes me think my girlfriend hacked DK to send me a new razor to convince me I'm cuter with a clean face. CONSPIRACY!!!!
I got one of those razors too with my tire order. I thought it was strange as well. I have to say, those tires were the only thing I have ever ordered from DK adn all around it was great service. I'd order from them again anytime.....provided the price is right.
I had a terrible time with dk. Its been several years ago. There was no parts stock counter back then, and they claimed they had all the engine bits in stock for an old ninja. Wrongo. Same song and dance, took a month to get fixed after being on backorder, etc. Yup, don't really like em. But the razor thing? Yeah they do that sometimes. Its cheap piggyback advertising. Not that I mind tho
I've never had a problem with them. I order on the phone and they are customer freindly. They always told me when something was back-ordered. I've returned items with no questions also. I've used them for about 6 years but it's been over a year since I've used them. Same with J&P.
Seems like the bike industry is the same the world over - if you talk to enough people you will eventually hear a horror story about the best shops around :-\
