Some of you guys may know Shoe48. Green Kaw 750 twin, awesome cafe bike. Unfortunately he was hit by a car not too long ago. I just found out tonight, but after a go in ICU, some surgery, and a bout with infection, he is home and healing. I'll be heading up to see him with a couple of guys off the KZR board on Saturday.

Apparently, he was out on the cafe, and a 76 yr old man in a Lincoln didnt see him and pulled right out in front of him. Shoe had no time to react, and hit him in the rear 1/4 panel doing about 40mph. He flew about 15 feet, landed with his leg under him, and broke his femour in two places. He had a pretty good sized gash in his foot, and broke a couple of fingers. I am not sure if he was unconcious but he had some internal injuries as well, and was flown to Cleveland Memorial where he underwent surgery to repair some stuff in his leg, and put into ICU for a few days. Apparently, the bike sustained little damage, and he is planning on rebuilding it. The elderly mans insurance company is supposedly stepping up to the plate to pay for all expenses, pain and suffering as well. Lets wish him a speedy recovery, and I shall send any msgs from members here his way.

Wish him a speedy recovery, and glad to hear he's going to be ok & all ready planning on re-building his KZ.

btw, would a MV Agusta F4 CC be too much for "pain and suffering?" :)

why is it always old people. I am one that says once you hit 65 you should be retested at least every 5 years to see if you should still be on the road.

Hi all Thanks for all the great great well wishes , Cafe Kid was here today so he can say I am on the heal and doing fine ,, again Thank you and Cafe Shoe should also be on the heal soon ;D
 
Great to hear from you again shoe. I know all of us here and over on kzrider were shocked to hear of your accident and have been pulling for you.

As Shoe said, I went up to visit with RageZro and Breeze off the KZR, and it was good to meet him! Seemed in great spirits given the circumstances, and yes, Cafe Shoe will live again. Amazingly LITTLE damage. Only wish Shoe had been as fortunate as the bike was! LOL. But, he is on the mend, and again, Dave it was very nice meeting you. Look forward to maybe riding with you next season? Fingers crossed here buddy :)
