Dimple Tank

They spell it dimpol but it is this. http://benjiescaferacer.com/bikes/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/xs650_dimpol_combo_fg_2.jpg

Well... That's a custom made tank. Similar to the Triton tanks on yore. There is nobody I know of manufaturing a similar tank for small change. Its going to cost ya. You can however find a tank with a similar shape, a ball peen hammer, and make something similar yourself. Or you can try to make a fibreglass one, but its no small task and glass tanks arent the best option for a street bike all the time.

RocCity can make you that tank from aluminum or steel, but again it won't be cheap. Its extremely labor intensive and a real art. Which again, isn't cheap...

What bike is this for exactly?

Some frames handle other tanks easily, some are a real PITA. If it won't fit on your frame, it won't really matter what the exterior of the tank looks like.

It is not for a specific bike. I will find a bike that fits a tank like that easily cause I like the look of that tank so much.

Maybe a ducati tank will have a similar shape, I can't believe you forgot about me Yinzer.Haha Sounds like he wants something like mine. My tank was Ducati/Benelli inspired.

What everyones trying to say is...

Its kind of impossible to fit a bike to a tank without a massive amount of work. Say you find an old Kawasaki triple tank (similar in shape to the one you posted), that tank fits Kawasaki triples. That's it. It can be modified to fit other bikes, but that could emtail anything from simply moving the frame mounts to a massive amount of fabrication and metal work. You really need to determine what bike the tank will be going on before you jump in feet first. Otherwise you're asking for a heap of trouble.

That is why I was asking the question. I wanted to see what kind of bike to get for that style tank. So thankyou.

Any bike... The tank gets made for the bike...

Thanks man,Yinzer is telling you right bike first then tank. Custom tanks are not cheap,i know i build tanks also. if you're wanting to be cheap find a bike with the tank you like and its only cosmetic work, not structural.

so you're looking to copy benjie's design without paying the premium he charges for the design? I may be paraphrasing but that's how I read it... wouldn't that be kinda like calling your friend's garage band to see if they'd play a bunch of songs by another band because you don't want to pay to go to the other bands' concert?

I think hes trying to find a way to run a tank that looks like that (which isn't exactly an original design) without spending a massive amount of money. You know... Like almost egeryone on this site does with the majority of parts on their bikes.
