"Dirty Frank" is 95% done

gribbs

Coast to Coast
Still waiting for an idea to come to me for the tank. Maybe some stripes or logo or numbers or somethin....any ideas?

All done by my friend (a bike mechanic) and myself. Only paid for the welded caps on the butt end of the frame. I learned to fibreglass, bondo, and wrap a seat. Seat is from RocCity.

Future mods - 530 chain conversion, rebuild and polish a set of wheels, new gauges/dummy light setup ...and more probably.....

Dirty Frank wasn't running, and was well, dirty, but now he has a new lease on life

"Bus drivins harder on your head than on your feet DIRTY Frank YA!"

Thanks man! I wanted to paint the frame a color I had not yet seen on a cafe, and I always liked the seafoam green color. I wish it was brighter, but it is a difficult color to find in a can, so this is as close as I could get. I have a second frame that I am thinking of doing the same hack job too and more over the winter, and I will go powder or PPG next time. Maybe Laguna Seca blue....

Is there any market for those goddamn sissy bars??!!! I've at least two of them sitting in the garage that I tore off of bikes. Is any one doing cheesy "easy rider" re-builds these days?

Thanks guys for the compliments! its rad to see some of "vets" of the site who I read often here comment too :) Cheers!

Pardon my ignorance but what are the "cans" behind each rear shock? they look great! What do they do?

I just hauled a ton of them and the ones that look like decorative porch railings to a scrap metal yard ;D Or hondachoppers.com may be into that kind of stuff....

I love the shocks too, where'd you get em? Carpy has a set like that but a wee out of my price range by about $600

if you have an extra i could use it as a fender support/ sissy on my bobber build! let me know, if not i could just bend some round bar just as easy . let me knwo

You are welcome to one. It looks exactly like the one in the before pic on this thread. Cover shipping and it's yours.

I have a '72 500 four awaiting a build that has a purple tank with a dancing bear on it. complete with beaded and tassled leather lever grips. its not chopped but the rear is lowered a couple of inches. Would take a 4 foot sissy bar real well!

Can't do it. I hate the dead. Punk Rock rules!! I should though I could probably get great $$ for it when done.

The dead have more merchandise than coca-cola. Although, I fear to really strike the heart strings of the aging nostalgic, you would have to make it an OCC-esque theme bike. Basically....we should stop talking about this and pretend this conversation never happened.
