I have this idea that i need to build a paint booth in my garage to paint my 2 bikes plus 1 other,so here goes. The plan is all clear plastic with an entrance and exhaust fan/filter. I already had an 8' light that wasnt being used so all set there. This may take a little bit so bare with

With the fan, be sure you get one that has a "burst proof" motor. Also choose the plastic carefully as some plastic sheets can cause static electricity with BAD results.

Please keep us updated on what materials you use. I have 3 bikes that I am going to need to paint and I would like to get somethng going in the garage also.

I used 1" PVC pipes and joints for a frame (7' cube). Easy to setup and easy to breakdown and store. Enough space to paint a frame easily.

Couple 2x4, fan for window, 8' light 2 furnace filters(dedtroyed one trying to screwcome it) and roll of 12x 100' plastic 3 mil.
We shall see how it goes. Its about 5x8.

Science is true whether you believe in it or not.
You will find 5' X 8' is a tad too small.

Go to a home improvement center and buy a self-stick zipper. That can be your door. If you have a leaky flap door, the filters are useless. I would suggest a couple more filters. If you are using a box fan, the amount of air that it could move through those filters is pretty limited. If the air is full of overspray, your paint jobs will suck.

I single 8' light will probably not be enough. You need light from all angles, not from a single fixture.

I'm sure your right if I was expecting professional results. We'll see what happens and I'll post as I go! Thanks for chiming in Alpha!

When I remove asbestoswe had to line the rooms in plastic . When it came ti the door we used 3 flaps , just staggered the openings opposite of each other .

That's basically what I did and there's Velcro once I get in the booth to close behind me.
