Is it possible for me to move my cam chain off of my upper sprocket while the engine is still in the bike? My bike is a 73 honda cb200. I have managed to get the top cover off the bike and I was checking my timing, and sure enough it seems that I am off by maybe one tooth. It is barely noticeable, but I am hoping to not have to pull the entire engine again.... Any help would be appreciated. Also does anybody have any tips on how to get the chain looser? My automatic tensioner has that thing TIGHT. And in the manual you have to pull out the tensioner before you pull out the cam chain and cam shaft. Thanks!

Typically the tensioner can be removed without opening up the engine etc. So you should be able to back the tensioner off completely so it's not touching the cam chain.

Does the CB200 cam sprocket bolt onto the cam shaft? You're basically going to want to look in your manual for the steps to remove the cam, and then the steps to put it back in.
