does motor color matter?

Just a quick question: Aside from aesthetics, are there any advantages/disadvantages to painting the motor?

Paint will make the engine run a little bit warmer, but it's negligible.

I prefer paint because it's usually easier to clean than bare metal. It can and does chip, though.

red is faster than black, and silver is slower than blue.

Some parts of honda motors are painted because they are made of materials that dont look nice like magnesium or strange plastics.

But blue slower than black and silver is faster than red.. And the train is moving at 45mph

Paint chips, flakes, scratches...

Just have your engine cases etc. vapor blasted and leave it bare aluminum. I have to settle for soda blasting as there is no local vapor blasting available, but I'm looking at sending my small Honda CA95 engine cases and head off to a company that does it in Vancouver.

All my engines so far are bare aluminum.
