I'm going for a minimal style build so the first thing I did when I stripped the bike down to the frame was cut / bash off any unneeded bits. Everything looked fine until I went to grind down some left over weld and found this:
The frame is upside down in the image and the damaged area is where the lower half of the seat lock assembly was welded to the frame. I guess I shouldn't have used a hammer
So it's kind of a dilemma for me because I don't have the tools, experience, etc. to replace that part of the frame. But on the other hand it's just a small hole/tear (maybe 1.25 inches) and it's close to other structural parts of the frame.
I won't be racing this bike... is it unsafe to NOT repair this?
