Does this part belong in my brake caliper?

Been Around the Block
hey guys, Im in the process of rebuilding my front caliper and I'm a little confused on a white rubber washer Ive found within the assembly. It fits between the piston and the pad, and looks to belong, but I can't find any mention of this washer after scouring the internet and looking at schematics.

Im thinking it might be part of an aftermarket set, but I'd like to know what someone more knowledgeable than me thinks.

And it's a 74 cb350f

Pretty sure it's supposed to be there...Just rebuilt my CB360's front brake and it had one as well. If you buy brake pads a new ring is usually included too. Might want to replace the rubber O-ring that's inside the caliper while you're at it, if you haven't already

Thanks man, I appreciate the input. And yeah, the piston seal is absolutely pristine...can't be too old considering the fact that the pads look almost new.

The white washer behind the pad is an anti-squeal washer. That came from the factory that way. It also allows the pad to shift a little so it stays flat on the rotor.
