Done 78 kz650 SR Street Rod

Crash

Crashing is a way of life
Not exactly a cafe or a street fighter. More of a modified stock. Lowered 2 inches front and back, euro style handlebars, B tank on an SR frame, polished and painted. Performance mods are Dyna ignition and Coils, removed air filter from box and put in a screen, rejetted carbs to accomodate, and 8mm plug wires.

Hope ya like.

Thanks Guys. It's funny that the first two two respond are the two that gave me the most influence. Thank you very much for creating some great builds yourself.

I do dig that bike. Simple, yet good looking.

Where did you score the short shocks?

to me...that's absolutely beautiful....I may change my mind on how to handle my CB500T after seeing this

just one question...any particular reason you didn't paint the head light bucket to match?

Looks bloody fantastic man. I'm thinking Euro bars might make there way onto my KZ as well...comfort/function trump style and an aching back ;D

Crash, I have to ask. How did you get the engine so clean? Except for the shiny bits like the stator and points cover, my engine is rotten and nothing really makes it look clean. Yours look amazing. I've been thinking of painting mine just to make it look decent, but would rather have it look like yours.

I will be painting the bucket to match, just was trying this out. Will also be adding a headlight visor, or a Quarter Fairing. I have not decided yet.
It is painted Duplicolr Chrome with clearcoat, which gives it a shiney aluminum look.

The engine is painted with duplicolor's engine enamel in cast aluminum.

Shocks were purchased from Cycle Recycle, and were originally on my CB250 Project. They are 12 inch Eye to Eye. I also pushed the forks 2 inches through the trees.

Euro bars are the way to go for old men with bad backs, Like me. ;D

The other things I did to achieve the low look was to lower the gauges under the trees and lower the headlight bucket.
