I can get it done in Arkansas via the 25 year antique cycle rule. The frame number has to be clean (no record) according to CycleVin site. Pretty easy and fairly cheap but takes a while to get the title.

Two big updates happened recently, though the first one doesn't photograph well. I got the title sorted and in my name, as well as a historical vehicle tag on the way. That alone has me feeling much better with moving on with the build.
The second thing, The 1977 ts250 tank landed on my doorstep in the mail from @Kanticoy. It's in great shape, less a dent that needs messaged out. He believed it to be an nos unit, and I can see where it may be. I'm going to try to see if I can get the dent out and save the paint, even if it has a bit of patina..
As shown a few posts back, the tank fits these frames well, at least as far as vintage tanks go. I need to do a bit of fiddling with the coil mount and petcock to make it work, but I like the style alot. Will likely be building a hoop and custom seat to go along with it. I was planning to use one of the dcc wrapped cafe seats, but they are a bit wide as compared to the seat in my opinion...
I agree with my compadres above, that tank is pretty gnarly man. I wouldn't even mess with the dent, too much of a risk of losing the paint around it and that paint looks great. It sits really nicely on that purple frame.
I'll plan to keep the orange for now. It's got plenty of scratches and chips, but still plenty good. If I paint it, I'm guessing it'll be one of the last things. The frame though..... the purple has to go lol

Thank God. I didn't want to say it, but that combo is puke in your mouth color. I love that orange tank, though. That up against aluminum will be fantastic.
