the real question is though New2meCB is...... is the Fry Truck open? HAHAHAHAHA

HAHAHA Clearly, RustyOlive, you DO know this area ;D

There is one to the North and one to the South of the bridges. The Original Alberts is now just down the road running out of a small building and is consistently lined up out the door. For good reason IMHO 8)

Next mark Let's hit some country roads! Your bike on the side of the road with nothing but farm fields in the background. No cars, houses or other random stuff in the background allowed.

I am mostly a lurker here, but this interests me as it's an excuse to ride. Just a question about the rules.

Does this require my being on my "vintage" bike to participate, or can it be done on my main ride? Actually my main ride is 16 years old, so it's getting there, but I only ask as my KZ1100 is in pieces right now under "construction."

Thanks,

Tim

Hahaha. Its been a while, but the girl and I used to stop in for fries when visiting her family. I'll have to check out Alberts next time I roll through. :)

Any bike works as long as you ride it to and from the mark. I may not bother with this as I only need to go about 200 yards from my house to get a pic of a huge potato field with nothing else in the background. won't be much of a ride ;D

Auburn, Maine. 80 degrees today. First day this Spring/Summer thats been over 80 degrees>> 8)

Let's see......... I called for a city or town that was pre 1900 already so let's try "A Welcome To" sign from a town or city with a date showing incorporated pre 1800...... ???

See you in 7 days. ;)

OK, how about your bike and a plain "Welcome To Sign" from your State (or Country if your outside the US). I figure it would be a good ride for someone to get this mark. This mark qualifies everyone.......... 8) By the way, this is how it's done>>>

Cool. So I could ride to Maine, get welcome to The US, then Welcome to Maine "the way life should be" then turn around and get welcome to Canada and then Welcome to New Brunswick, all in like 45 mins ;D

I would do this right after work if I didn't have a Doctors appointment an hour from home the wrong direction.

Cool, I thought you did, you're down around auburn right? it's only 4 hrs ;D I can get to Portland in 4 hrs on the 95 - 295 but that is when I am in a hurry, I like the 2-2a then the 1?? I think on the coast from Bangor. I am 15 mins from Houlton crossing.

4 hours isn't bad. Your practically a neighbor. I could do a 4 hr. ride. Have you ever been to the Owl's Head Museum for the bike meet they have once a year?

Yes, State, Province or Country..................

For me to do this, I'd have to ride into DC, turn around, stand next to the "Welcome to Viriginia" sign on a bridge, dodge a bunch of feds for stopping on said bridge, get arrested, have my phone confiscated, AND my dog would be shot. No thanks

If you could drive with one hand and take the picture of the sign with the other as you ride by the sign on your bike, that would count........................... I would give ya bonus points for that!!!

Or maybe you could just stop in at the Virginia Welcome Center off the interstate. I'd bet they have a "Welcome to Virginia" sign there too.

I have read about it but yet to attend, that one has planes etc too right? I am trying to convince a buddy to do an overnight trip with our sons on the bikes and something like that would be cool. What time of year do they put it on? I'll Google it.

Cool that place is right outside Rockland, been there a few times, didn't know about the museum. Mapquest says it is 3h 58m away which means about 3.5. that would be a great trip overnight at the end of August and close to Bar Harbour which has some nice roads for bikes.
