DTT Photo Scavenger Hunt, Interactive Play Along,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next mark is: an airport. Extra points for little regional ones. There is a glider port about an hour away from me... I like hanging out on their deck and watching the sailplanes cruise around on the thermals in the spring when all the corn fields are black

I will have to think about the next mark.............

You must live in Chicago :)

must have been the gunfire in the background? ;D

actually I'm in Lake County .... Highland Park

I just spent an hour ( whilst my wife is getting ready so we can leave for a picnic concert) on google looking at "funny sign" images. Granted , most are just Photoshop spoofs... however many are very entertaining

OK, looks like this is going to be a tough one. I will revise my mark from "A Funny Street Sign" to ANY Funny sign located on the street. In other words, It doesn't have to be the name of a street, it can be any funny sign that is located on a street or hiway...................

Oh Man, the guys in Newfoundland have that in the bag, there are places called Dildo, Placentia Bay etc. I know there is more too.

Next Mark: Any funny/odd/ironic/hilarious street sign.

So I was out on yet another ride looking for signs and made a turn down this street. It's not only a dead end, I couldn't make a legal U-turn and continue on my ride. I of course didn't want to break any laws, so my bike is still sitting there. I guess I have to give up on this mark... it was a long walk home and I only have a few bikes left.

Next Mark: your bike and a "haunted house"

( no , you don't need proof that it is actually haunted.... it just needs to be really, really creepy looking ! )

I have one near me but it is not creepy looking at all. And more of cursed than haunted.

Damn! I live too far away from Wolfe Mansion these days :( I wonder if there are any near me now. Google time haha.

About the creepiest thing around here is this old dairy barn that someone MADE a cow sculpture out of concrete. Thing is laying on it's side like its asleep. Every time I drive by I think SHIT cow got ou..... NOPE its that stupid statue.

OK- We have reached the limit of seven days.... and time to make it easier so we can keep this moving-

New Mark: your bike and a boarded up , vacant building

If you wanna hold it for one more day, I can hit two documented Haunted Houses ;)

If not, I understand. There's plenty of storm damaged houses around here I can tag that are boarded/vacant.

In the spirit of the rules, the 7 days passed on the haunted house .. so the boarded up, vacant building is the new mark.

( maybe the Haunted House can be dusted off again as a previously "not completed mark" at some point in the future . We have several really creepy houses in my area so I thought it was an easy one myself )

I hadn't checked the thread for confirmation of the "holdover" before I left, but after thinking about it, I remembered a Haunt that might qualify for both.
I present to you, Magnolia Lane Plantation...

Magnolia Lane has been featured on the TV shows "Scariest Places on Earth" and "Ghost Adventures". It's not actually boarded up, but the "Main House" shown in the pic is vacant/abandoned. The people who own the property used to live in the house (many years ago), but after experiencing strange things, they quite literally dropped everything and never went back in the house again. A much newer house was built towards the rear of the property, which is where they reside.

The two locations I mentioned previously are Ormond Plantation and Destrehan Plantation. Both have documented hauntings, but both are very well maintained and offer tours, restaurants, B&B's, etc. Had I had the time to ride, I could've made this mark much sooner, and could've probably crashed the server with pics/locations! New Orleans is known to be one the most haunted cities in the country ;)

But just in case that wasn't going to cut it, I got this one on the way back...

Vacant and boarded up, old Circle K convenience store ;)

New mark: Your bike, and a Military installation. It can be current, historic, big, small, whatever.
(bonus points if someone in uniform is posing with your bike)
