Have a few questions for those who have aftermarket coils and wires. Never really messed with making wires until now, so I have a few questions. Question number one... Can I mount the Dyna coil I purchased any which way? Upside down for instance? I assume so, I'm just checking. The only way it will fit under my tank is upside down and the wire sockets going through the small hole in my frame up by the neck. AND... how do I properly attatch the wires to the connectors I purchased? I'm guessing I strip the wire down to the inner black core and then fold it back over the wire, then crimp the connector down on top (that being for the coil side)... then the plug side... the NGK boots I have seam to have a self tapping thread on the wire side? Do I just screw it onto the wire? I know these are all very ammature questions but as stated, I've never done this type of work. Thanks guys!
thanks man! i figured i was on the right track. hopefully i can get her running tonight... i have a lot of wiring to do though. i have the coil to put all back together/mount AND my new brake light AND remount/rewire my rear turns. did i mention i hate electrical! haha
I just got new coils and boots as well. I still have one question. There's a rubber outside tube over the spark plug wires. It ends plug side about two inches from the end. If I were to just screw the plug boots onto the end, that tube would still be an inch from the boot itself. Should I trim the end of the main wire to let me fold that rubber over the boot? Or does it matter?
