Hi, Steve from Pa.
I was wondering if anybody has the below shocks on their bike and how they are for riding a passenger compared to the original shocks?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/13-5-Air-Shocks-Absorbers-Honda-Suzuki-Yamaha-Kawasaki-/170650059999?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item27bb8944df

I have a 77 kz 650 and while the old original shocks are ok for solo riding, they cant handle much at all when the wife rides with me. Sometimes the tire hits the seat pan so I'm looking for a solution that would be around $100 or less. Looking for 13.5" for an extra inch of clearance.

Other ideas I was thinking about are a set of used kz1000 shocks or these. http://www.mikesxs.net/product/06-3643.html

Here's a pic of my kz so you can see what Im working with.

Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I have seen a few builders use these and i think they look great but apparently they aren't the best quality....Everyone seems to say Hagons are the best bang for your buck

I have a set on one of my 650s and though I have not ridden 2 up with them, I am a pretty heavy cat and even under serious riding they have stood up to what I have thrown at 'em. The spring rate is pretty high and so far I have been impressed with the overall damping abilities for the dollar. I have bottomed out stock shocks on the same bike in hard corners and these stay off the seatpan really well.

It probably would've helped to mention that I go about 195lbs. and the wife about 145..

Thanks Desmobro! I'll look into the Hagons. Love your avatar btw.. It brings back fond memories. I had an 89' 900ss that I sold to buy a 916 and never got around to buying one.. That old Duc was one of my favorite bikes I've ever owned..

Thanks Ahamay! That helps alot! I did catch the post by the member on here that pulled one apart and after reading it I really wasn't sure if they'd be able to handle the weight. Gonna do some more research but I might pull the trigger on these..

Hi,

Nice KZ! My brother have the exact same one in gold on his GS650.

I agree with Ahamay056 without any adjustments. Quality is decent and functions just fine when I rode it, however I don't think I can say I'm comfortable having two on it.
