EK Cam chains. Sorta crappy or totally crap?

Been Around the Block
I bought an EK Cam Chain for my XS850 engine. I haven't installed it yet, and now after reading a single negative anecdotal comment about an EK cam chain failure, I'm debating if I should buy a Tsubaki. I don't want to tank the engine over a $40 part. The other comment I digested from the wisdom of the internet is that EK chains come unbroken, must be broken, and are a pain to get the master link on.

Am I overreacting? Tell me stories of how your EK chain lasted 2 million miles as you toured all 5 continents and even had to lubricate your engine with grape seed oil and vinegar while crossing the Sahara flat out at 15k RPMs with only torn panty hose as an air filter.
