Electronic ignition pros/cons

Hey guys,
Just wondering if anybody has installed electronic ignition on their bike? I am considering it, but really don't know that much about them. So my questions are:

How much should I expect to pay?
Which ones should I look at/not look at?
Is there any maintenance?
Since I'm only going to put on about 1000 miles a year, is it really worth it?

I just ordered a BT-45 EL kit from Bill at Bore Tech, as well as a pair of Dyna DC-3-2 'mini' coils, for my '75 CB500T project. Pricey stuff but good reputation. I'm still at the beginning stage - frame not yet even powder coated - so a month or two (or more?) away from an on-the-road evaluation.

I have electronic ignitions on my '73 Triumph and one of my xs650 twins, the bikes start right up and run great. Of course they are relatively cheap since they sell a lot more for these bikes.
