trying to come up with a unique way to hide my wiring. i was thinking of using an old oil can. can pick one up on fleabay for a reasonable price. doubt i could fit my battery in one, but it might work for just the wiring. thoughts? ideas? suggestions?

bike in question: 1982 cb750

great idea! Why not run down to your local Flea Market/Antique store before you get on Fleabay! you get better deals in my opinion.

good idea blake. drag the baby mama around town on the search! im looking at one one fleabay now thats 99c. its pretty ragidy (thats waht i want). 6bux to ship a rusted empty can is pretty ridiculous though

when i searched i figured they would be 25$ or more on ebay. suprised to see the shitty ones are cheap. our flea markets around here suck! its a booth owned by an old lady with some "antiques" that she wants 500 bucks for. kc sucks for fleas and never aany swap meets

since i have this idea for the wiring, how could i mount the battery to the swingarm? if i do the can vertically under the seat, where the battery was, i need to drop the batttery down. my battery is huge. whats a good way to mount it? i saw on chopcult someone makin a box out of license plates. doesnt show how it was mounted though

im all for dumpster diving. not sure where id dive for old ass oil cans
I wish I knew, but I'm sure you could find something cool. I used a propane cylinder and Louie used one that held map gas.

There have been builds on here that have mounted the battery on the SA, but I'm not sure how. Might do a quick search to see.

ya i did a search and didnt find a yay or nay on drilling it to the swingarm. most say they use stock mounting holes. kinda impossible since im lowering it down,

Just an opinion, but I'm not big on drilling stressed members on the frame or swinger. You'd be better off welding a couple of tabs on there.

I drilled holes and mounted rivnuts in them

we welded a modified factory battery tray to the swingarm with a few rosette welds this weekend... works reallly well
