Emgo shorty muffler question

Coast to Coast
Does anyone know if the Emgo shorty mufflers go inside the pipe or on the outside? Why I ask is because I'm having an impossible time getting the stock muffler off my CL175. Its old and rusted on there it seems. But if the Emgo goes on the outside I guess I could just cut it off.

Could you post a pic of "muffler" in question..? I know what I consider to be an Emgo shorty. And they most deffinately dont go inside. It woulod be advertised as a baffle I would expect.

I've never, in my life, seen a factory or aftermarket muffler that goes 'inside' the header. Just doesn't work that way. Exhaust gasses would leak all over the place.

So - the EMGO muffler slips over the header, and typically would be clamped down. It might have been welded on by someone. I have an SR500 header welded to a Supertrapp silencer for example.

Ok great. Then I'll go ahead and cut the CL muffler off the pipe. I've heated and pounded that thing and it just won't budge off one of the pipes.

As always, thanks for the help!
