EMGO Viper cafe fairing, questions and cautions

To put it bluntly, it's a POS. I still like the looks of it when I hold it up to the bike, but unfortunately, it appears that the only way 'll ever see it is when I hold it there.

The brackets it came with don't even come close to fitting. It's warped about 1/4", and the holes for the brackets have 1/4" difference in location. Only two of the seven windshield mounting holes line up with the fairing at any time. Also, the windshield is about 1/4" short of the end of the fairing on one side, and 1/2" long on the other side.

Anyone installed one, and could post pictures of the brackets?

If you are looking for an easy to install part...look elsewhere. Consider this fair warning.

I've never liked that fairing, it's too big and tall for most bikes and looks awful on a small twin. But it is the default fairing for cafes since it's cheap and available.

Yeah, I would never put it on my CB360, but the 'wing is large, and has similar squarish curves.

It's also much smaller than the fairing that came off.

Well, you have it now, and instead of being pissed, and not using it why not try trimming, and custom mounting it it into something you do like?

When I had mine, I trashed the brackets that came with it. I used .040" aluminum strap and bent it to mount to the handlebar clamps on the upper side, and from the headlight ears to the original fairing mount location. It was much stronger, and eliminated fairing vibration from wind buffeting. I did trim mine quite a bit. I didn't like the shape of the windshield.

One of these was installed on my GB500 when I got it. The PO had done only an "OK" job of installing it but, all-in-all, since it had been properly painted to match the correct GB color it looked pretty good.
