Engine metal sealer?

Repeater

I just had my T500 engine rebuilt. The cases and head where soda blasted. I've researching how to seal and or control oxidation. It's seems its either clear coat or WD40. I did find sone stuff called sharkhide, but can't seem to find much on it's use on an engine / air cooled engine.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to clear coat. I've read it can be hit or miss with it turning yellow.

CRC makes two different corrosion inhibitors in a spray bottle SP350 and SP400 that can be periodically reapplied. SP400 is dry and SP350 has a waxy/somewhat oily film.

Sharkhide. Many folks here can vouch for it and I used it on the Guzzi restoration.
What did you use to apply it? They recommend a cotton diaper.

Thanks fellas. Attached a pic of the motor Just for a little reference:)

I used a cotton diaper. Lol. Bought a pack on amazon for $10 or so. Q-tips for in between the fins.

Motor looks great.

Motor was done by Roy Gibson from Roys Rides. He did an amazing job. Sad he's retiring soon. I was thinking of trying the aerosol version of Sharkhide due to the cooling fins.

I did an XS motor a long time back when I was rebuilding it, and it has been fine untreated. I haven't used Sharkhide or even heard of it frankly but I'll look into it myself as well.

Whatever you put on, make sure you understand if it will ever yellow/flake off etc. I'm all for natural uncoated materials if you can swing it. From the inside of gas tanks to engine cases and rims. No coatings means no refinishing in the future.
