Eurolite LED bulb review - $14.99 at Canadian Tire

I bought an LED replacement bulb this weekend at Canadian Tire. The brand is Eurolite but may go by other names in other stores/countries. It's 1157 style bayonet connector (typical application is tail light or running light/signal).

The Good:
- Very low current consumption: 50 mA with power to both terminals (stock 23W incandescent sucks 2A!)
- Fits in my aftermarket tail light housing.
- Construction seems relatively robust; basically a bunch of PCBs soldered together.

The Bad:
- Not very bright. I don't have any measurement equipment but subjectively it is not near as bright as the 23W incandescent bulb.
- Quit large compared to incandescent. Fit in my tail light but likely wouldn't fit into small signal lights.

Consensus:
- It's going back. I'd be much happier with an LED bulb that draws 200 mA (still 10% of 23W incandescent) and was brighter than stock. I don't want to sacrifice visibility just to save current draw.
- If you have a tail light with 2 bulbs this may be a viable option.

That said, has anyone had any good luck with LED replacement bulbs? I've been eyeing some on ultraHID.com and there are tonnes on ebay too but it's hard to find any specs.
