Even bigger, and heavier!

I have been day dreaming about putting some hard bags on my Heritage Softail. But I wanted them to match the 39" pipes, and kind of keep the gangster style of this bike alive. I was visiting with the owner of the dealer about my idea, and it turns out that he's always wanted to do one the same way, but no one will buy that sort of thing up here. He has most of the parts already collected, and though they need a little modification to work on the Heritage, this stuff shows some real potential for building out my idea perfectly. The parts are mostly Arlen Ness and Harley, and are frightfully expensive, but the mock ups we did at the store were pretty badass. Here are some photos from that:

At the samee time, I think I will repaint the bike to candy orange, with gold metalflake, and do the offset color in cream white. Maybe a little silver leaf in there also.

And a shot from our smoky, forest fiery ride yesterday:

I know, I know...its 'HD' and bagger in the same sentence, but I still think it'd be pretty mean even if it doesn't have a bumstop and rearsets... ;)

I love the beach bars! Rarely see them around here. If I were ever to get a big HD it would look something like that. Color change sounds sick- I love big flake.

I'll be the voice of discontent. Though I do not like anything bagger-esque, my feelings will be hurt if you change that paint.

Brother, you are not alone. I have a few friends here that love the brown as well. I just have this super gangster, south Cali image in my head that I just can't shake, and it includes some serious flake. Maybe it's because it's the antithesis of my actual personality, I don't know, but I am fascinated with it. I also am really feeling the excessively long look--it will be close to 15' long at that point. It certainly won't be another Ultra Classic like what is mostly prevalent around here. It's all fun for me, just trying different styles on for size.

Actually had a friend of mine ask me tonight why I can't just leave my bikes well enough alone (she was very displeased with this latest creation)...and that is a very, very good question. I guess in the end, I cannot be accused of being a 'purist' to any one style, ha ha.

Some people have their "grocery getters", but you have to be the guy that can have a "lumber getter"..........

Those things are massive Tyler. But I can dig it.
