Father Son 75 CB200T Rise From the Ruins

Just take it off and throw it away i.e. recycle all that surplus steel. How many chain drive bikes have that sort of ring to stop teh chain from falling off? a few. Why? Because it's a solution looking for a problem. More to the point, the 200 was a commuter designed to function despite a total lack of maintenance. 160, 175. 350.360 etc all did without that ring and so can you.

If you want to get all bling and sexy, install a shark fin to keep fingers and toes out of the sprocket.

520 chain is what 150HP bikes use or my TZ250s which don't make that sort of power but jump a lot harder than a Cb200 on crack.

I was surprised when I saw that tiny chain on our RS125, but it seems to work just fine in that application.
ok we will get rid of the extra steel...Teazer...but do I have the courage to tell my wife that I have been looking at rs125 race bikes for a parts bike? Thank God she is not on this forum :)

My stock circling is also thicker on bottom , opposite of eyelets, strength while flexible. I'm sure it their just like ,"warning hot coffee". Chain gaurs and sprocket it to prevent your bell bottom wearing passenger from getting trapped
we checked the circlips on the two other 200's and they are all the same with the same gap in them.

The issue with the circlip in you're pic isn't its shape ( thick at the bottom ) or the gap between the open end I t's the fact that in the picture it seems as teaser said it's not correctly seated in the grove in the hub
In you pic the left hand end appears to be sitting higher

thanks Simo we seated the clip.

We have commissioned a 415 17 tooth sprocket for lucky and it should be here just after New Years. Here are the numbers for the community on our chain research:
Racing chains
Our DID ERT 520 chain is 2.99 lbs per 100 links
The DID ERZ 415 chain is 1.45 lbs per 100 links

Standard chains
The DID 428 D chain is 1.84 lbs per 100 links
The DID 428 HD chain is 2.20 lbs per 100 links
The DID 520 chain is 3.12 lbs per 100

Now you have to take in account the amount of links required for each chain
We are running 93 links on Lucky at the moment with the 520 chain.

Also the tensile strength of the chain. The 415 racing chain is slightly better at tensile strength than the stock 428 chain.

Zeke and I need to put some heat on the wheels to get the studs to release but we pulled a 175 and 200 wheel and it looks like the hubs are identical. We did some measurements on the sprockets and the retainer plate on the 200 plus the sprocket is the same width as the 175 sprocket. The 175 sprocket is 7.35 mm and the 200 plate is 1.30 mm and the sprocket is 6.05 mm. As Tim said you can easily take a grinder or dremel tot the plate. We used the retainer locks to pencil a circle to cut.

Or just use the large washer that sits behind the sprocket on a cb175, no cutting required
How thick are the 415 sprockets ( front and rear )if its narrower than the 428 you'll need to 'pack' out the difference at the rear to align the chain

thanks Simo! Your ingenuity is always inspiring...they will make the 415 sprocket to the correct width and offset for us

Today is the day we finish Mr. Peel. We
Buffed everything else during the ice storm and we are ready to go after we run a new water line that broke under our foundation. If momma doesn't have hot water we are in hot water.

when we get our AMA number we will need to do this for both sides also! That is the color we wanted to use for our number!
AMA will give you a member # but pretty sure you can put what ever # you want on. If your running a class with same they make you put an x or something after

We are thinking the carbon fiber front fender needs to be painted.
Thoughts???..we are doing the most difficult part...sticker placement.

Looks great. Don't cover up all the carbon if you do paint.

I think the dark color of the carbon fiber will look great next to the DTT sticker that Sonreir did up. It probably looks out of place because the rest of the fairing is rather bright. Even so, why hide such a beautiful material.

How much weight will the paint add?
IMHO blue fender blades ( or whatever the bits that run down the forks are called) , carbon for the fender 'body'

we will wait till the sticker gets it! You may be so right! Thanks guys!
