DT250 project in the works!
Alright Ghouls, I know I'm not the only soul-sucking person who digs psychobilly and punk.
What got you into it and whats your favorite band and album?
I gotta say for me its probably The Corpse Show Creeps with Blackblood Call or
The Nekromantix with Life is A Grave. Theses are some of the katz that really pop into mind.
Tell me what chu got.

One album I love that is all killer, no filler is "WRONG" by No Means No. That's probably my favourite hardcore album (well, it was classed as hardcore in it's time ;D )

Mmmm I'm kinda new to the psycobilly thing. I was listening to Reverend Horton Heat (best stage name ever) on an internet radio station and I came across Deadbolt. The self proclamed scariest band in the world. I cant get enough of them right now.
Also how about" Ghoul Town" and" Drink with the living dead". More southern rock/country than psycobilly but it does have undead gun slingers. ;D

I Really dig RHH Weezy, and I'll have to check out deadbolt. They sound right up my alley. If you like hardcore new psychobilly, dig on Mad Sin and Koffin Kats. They both really get shit groovin.

As already mentioned the Reverend is a must. The HorrorPops are one of my faves, and great in concert. For really good PSYCHObilly I freaking love The Wrecking Dead. Always pumps me.

Punk is undergoing a lot of change right now but you can never go wrong with the classics, Bad Religion, Rancid, Black Flag, Sex Pistols, etc.

I really like None More Black right now. Their early albums were great. Look up File Under Black it's sweet.

Nekromantix Return of the Loving Dead. Great album. My fave song is Nice Day for a Resurrection. Also anything by Deadbolt.
Social Distortion rules all. And of course rancid, nofx, flogging Molly, goldfinger, mustard plug, operation ivy, pennywise, and streetlight manifesto.

I have all of The Nekromantix's vinyls. They are killer. They were the first band i ever heard in psychobilly.
I Really dig all the classics like Rancid and TSOL and Like you said Op. Ivy & Pennywise. If you dig them check out The Adicts. They are my fav punk band. OH And Check out The Monks. They are labeled the First punk band ever. They are from the mid 60's.

Someone beat me to it, Deadbolt! I caught them a year or two ago at Beachland in Cleveland - quite a night.

Never seen deadbolt live but punk bands don't tend to come through south Alabama much. Love their quasi-cover of Big John.

Ha Ha another one in the fold! I'd love to see them live. "Buy a Gun Get a Free Guitar". Been listening to a couple of the Meteors songs. OTMAPP. I'm also liking Batmobile. My favorite of theres is "Calamity Man"
As for the classics, I dabbled a bit back in the day. Dead Kennedys - To Drunk to F#%$, The Sex Pistols of course, DOA , and anyone remember The Anti Nowhere League - So What. Not a good song to sing in your car with the windows rolled down. ( yep..just checked it out on YouTube. Just as offensive as I rememberd it.)

Im not much of a psychobilly fan, but Punk is all I listen to. Right now it would be a toss up between Svart Framtids one album and any album by Inepsy.

The Cramps, The Staggers, The Meteors, Elvis Hitler, The Klingonz, The Groovy Ghoolies... More hardcore than punk, but there was a band from DC called Adam West that kicks ass. Also, if youre not listening to Clutch youre dumb.

I also dig The Gories, a really disfunctional little band that was out of Detroit a few years back. Back on track though, if you like chick surf bands check out The Famous Monsters.

Matt

Clutch does come through here periodically. I've seen them twice around here. My favorite of theirs is the classic 'careful with the mic.'
And as far as all girl surf rock goes, has anyone mentioned the 5.6.7.8's? That was the Japanese girl band at the restaurant in kill bill. And they did that woo hoo song from the vonage commercials.
