Fork lowers came in today. So shiny. Ill put them together tomorrow. Spent the afternoon playing around with the mill and have company tonight. So tomorrow we should have a roller.
Good day at the junk yard. I took the bike down there to try the exhaust on. The guy liked my bike so he sold me the pipes for half of what he told me last time!
Little rattle can to see what black pipes would look like. I think the white heat shield might be to much. What do you think? I know you guys have an opinion.
Well i have hit a snag. The shocks on these are 13" long so i was thinking I would use a set of progressive 12 series. But it turns out the bolt for the clevis on the cb175 is an 8mm and the bolt on every other bike that has a clevis shock is a 10mm. I have not been able to find any aftermarket shocks for them. I have an email into progressive to see if they are interested in making a shock for this size or if i can get one without the clevis hole drilled. Otherwise i will have to modify the swingarm. If I have to do that i think I will make it to accept an eye to eye shock since those are much more abundant.
I cant weld on my rear hoop and fender untill I have the shocks Im going to use.
Well, I never heard back from progressive so i took a drill to the bushings and drilled them out to fit the 10mm bolt. Slapped on a set of 13" shocks i had and it worked fine. So I bought a set of 13" progressive shocks w/o springs. Im going to call them on monday to find out what the best spring would be for this weight bike. 1106
Still working on getting the shocks to fit right. I built a battery box. THis is as far back as i could get it and clear the rear wheel at full compression on the shock. I really dont want a battery box under the seat but i dont have another option because I need a decent sized battery to run the starter. I guess later on if i want to run kick only i can get a smaller battery and get rid of the box. What do you think? Does it look ok or does it kill the whole look?

can you fill in the area in front of the batt box (ie continue the box forward) + have it angle up at the back? just so it's not a box just hanging in the middle of your seat? love your wheels btw.....
Finally got all the shocks sorted out. Quick trip to the hardware store to build a spring compressor and the shocks are on the bike. Still need to weld up the rear hoop.
You can use shocks for a moped. I got some Italian made Sebac shocks from here:

Just look for eye to eye shocks of the correct length. I believe the cb125 bolts are 8mm, not 10mm. But if you get 10mm eye shocks, it will have shims for 8mm.
I like the quality for the money. Simple shocks for simple bikes.
I think im going to run a front fender. I have to re drill the holes so the fender doesnt rub on the tire. Im going to round of the front and loose the side braces. Toying with the idea of running white fenders on the bike. Ill do some mixing and matching when i get the fenders mounted and ready.
Battery box mounts are welded in place and box is bolted down. Rear hoop is tacked in place. Thats where its going to be. Now I need to work on mounting the fender.
Im going to run these pegs. I think they will look bad ass white with the all black frame and motor.
I cant think of a name for this bike either. I usualy name them after the previous owner but i dont remeber the name of the guy who sold me the sl175 frame. SO anybody have a suggestion? 1660
