I have a nicely built cafe seat for sale.
Bought it for 74 CB360, but changed my mind about that look.
just want thin seat from tank to loop.
$65.00 or trade for loop and seat or loop and narrow seat pan for CB360.

Ok. What's the deal, is it the worst seat ever and everybody's being nice by not telling me it's a crappe' not a cafe'
Or is everyone just so cheap on this site. that they would rather spend the $65 bucks on another junk bike?
Help me out, I got to know.
Thanks

Most people here build their seats, and 65 isn't a fantastic deal.
And yes we are cheap 8)

Not trying to be confrontational or argumentive, but if your time is worth Say $5.00/hour and you spend 2-3 hours running around getting foam, tape, foil, fiberglass, resin. stir sticks, cups, acetone and miscellaneous supplies, gas and milk, that's going to cost at least $40.00 plus we can't forget the $15.00@ $5.00/hour. So our thrifty "Do it yourselfer" in our little scenario is into his project for $55.00 and he/she hasn't even started mocking it up yet. then there are the joys of mixing the resin laying the cloth and dripping sticky stuff all over everything within shouting distance. (probably another 4-5 ($25.00) hours mocking it up and laying down the glass, maybe cleaning the mess, maybe not) So where are we now? did we just make a mould that more likely than not has been done a thousand times before, or are we going take our hardened creation to perfect symmetry and fit with the old grinder and lots of sandpaper and bondo and sandpaper and bondo. Let's face it grinding fiberglass has to be one of lifes greatest pleasures, and it hardly makes any mess at all and it makes your skin feel soft and smooth. I am guessing you perfectionists out there spent at least 4 hours getting it ready for paint ($20.00 @ $5.00/hour) And if all goes well you have a one of a kind piece of art that you can take pride in having created it with your own hands. That is what makes it worth all the time and effort. But you could end up with a seat that looks exactly like my $65.00 not such a bargain seat. Or you just might end up with a piece of crap and a $100.00 hole in your pocket.

All true. It's almost never cheaper to make it yourself.
Doesn't stop us 8)
And all those hours are enjoyable shop time, which is why most of us do what we do anyway.

This isn't really a good place to sell things. But somebody may want it so just hang tight.
I'd toss it on ebay personally.

... lol

I have several molds of that seat. Between spraying gel, and laying glass, I have 40 minutes in one.

I can't speak for anyone else, but just off the top of my head...
It could be that some folks (such as myself) don't really need a seat, but if it was interesting enough and priced right, they might buy it. And since one cannot see the seat without viewing the thread, it would make sense that you would have views and no purchases.
OR, It could be that in the 7 hours between your first post and your "I got sand in my vagina and there's no Summers Eve in sight" post, that most people were asleep, at work, not online, or any combo thereof. And perhaps you should have some patience and wait a few days before getting your panties in a wad and insulting your target customers.

But that's just my opinion, your mileage may vary ;)

I don't need it... but I'd buy it for $32.50 shipped to 23238....

<---- (cheap bastard)

And when all of your posts are in the selling/buying threads it's not a "i'm a friendly guy looking to be part of a cool forum community" vibe. It's a "all I care about is your money" vibe and people around these parts don't really love that.

Thanks for all the replies, I am a relatively new comer, and really Just trying to find my way around this resource.
I was curious about the view to reply ratio and and I thought it was a question with a bit of humor, not an insult, but I can see how my question could be seen as an insult now. And then I guess I was trying to say in my own way that sometimes we spend a dollar to save a quarter (again I was trying to inject some sarcastic humor to it) but that too did not go well with some of you. so let me apologize to anyone I offended (except for BCBarker who I will address later)
And secondly let me just say nobody loves taking old rusty mechanical stuff more than me, spending untold hours to bring it back to its former glory, just for the pleasure it gives me. I started when i was six years old with an old rusted pedal car in my basement before I had even heard the word restore, during that same project I also learned never unclog a spray can with a nail while pointing can at your face.
I have learned alot since that day some 45 years ago, and I still learn by coming to forums like this one with so many people willing to share they're experience and expertise with no expectations for returns.
Sorry to harsh your buzz dude (BCBARKER) as far as your it's "all I care about is your money" Why don't you do the seventh grade math (where I am sure you get to sit with all the cool kids at lunch) and tell me how many seats do I have to buy for $80. sell for $65 or trade for something else before I can retire? And just for you BCBarker I will explain why my posts are only in buy and sell. are you ready? it's because I needed to buy things that I didn't have and sell things I no longer needed but thought someone else would benefit from. and when I need certain information I look it up and read it, no need to post when you already got your answers from previous thread, and finally, can you guess where I go when I have to shit?

Meh', there are other areas of the forum to participate in, and "be a part of the group." All he is saying is that just buying and selling is generally frowned upon. If you love wrenching on bikes, and have been doing it for decades, share your knowledge with those asking questions, if nothing else.

damn... i'm the only one to make you an offer.. and you get your panties in a twist and get mad at me! :)

And I was trying to be helpful by suggesting you start a build thread... maybe a "new member" post with a few pics of your awesome pedal car or other projects you have done. Maybe pics of your bike from the day you brought it home... i don't know... be more than a leach...

Good luck with the sale dude.

I'll give you $33 :) but seriously...i will. Winning bid right now.

They're sprayed with a chopper gun rather than laid, or vacuum bagged. Would have to see a pic of the bottom to know for certain, though.
