First bike

Crusader

I have no clue what I'm doing. :D
Hello everyone. I just got out of the military and have been bored out of my mind just going to school so I needed another hobby. I love the cafe style and couldn't see myself riding anything else. Was going to build my own but I found a CM400t (I know they suck for cafe builds) on CL for an incredible price. Everything was done at a custom shop in KS. New tires, chain, cables, sprockets, battery, clutch, brakes, paint job, custom seat, custom cowling, custom 2 to 1 exhaust etc. Complete tune up done (valve adjustment, carbs, filters, and sparkplugs cleaned/replaced). Needless to say I fell in love and drove out to pick it up. I've been lurking here for a while and made an account today.

I saw this thread and have been using it as inspiration for any future mods.

The only thing I can see myself changing about the bike is the seat. Its really comfy and has a low pro cafe look but I like the more traditional look. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with Motorcycleseatsdirect.com. Believe it or not they actually make a CB/CM400 cafe seat (I've heard nobody makes them) with custom seat pans and everything. This is the seat I was thinking about installing and was wondering if anyone out there had used it on their CM400 builds.

Anyway, I figured I would post some pictures of my new baby:

Actually that's a nice looking little bike. I shouldn't have gotten rid of the one I had. Are you trying to sell the watch? Seriously, though, welcome.

Thanks for the compliments and welcomes everyone. The more I ride it the more I love it and don't want to change a thing about it. I do have to add another mirror to make it legal here. I haven't been stopped yet and could probably play the "I didn't know card" lol. I also want to get a smaller battery and relocate the electronics to a more discrete location to give it a more "minimalist" look.

Very cool for a first bike! Have fun and be safe as Beaner said.

PS: the current seat looks great. I wouldn't change it.

Thanks for the compliments on the seat. Good to know its not just me liking the seat because its on my bike. Its a little more comfortable than a typical cafe style seat too so thats a plus.

Oooooooh... a finished bike, jet helmet, designer shades and timepiece! Bought right into that didn't ya Hipster.
I think I spy an officer.

;)
Just hazin the noob. Welcome to DTT!

Haha yep. It definitely looks like I fit the hipster profile!

In all reality I already dressed like a cafe racer before I was introduced to them by a buddy of mine....Pomp undercut with pomade, tapered jeans, vintage 60's leather monk strap chukkas, and just good all around sense of style (watch, glasses, etc.). Cafe bikes just fit me so well that I had to have one (a little research and 2 weeks later I had one in my garage).

And in case you're curious I was actually enlisted. I just manage money well and have a wife that spends almost no money on herself and lets me buy all the goodies (she's a keeper). Also helps having DINK (dual income, no kids).
