I've been lurking around the boards for almost a year now, which is almost how long I've been working on this project.
My wife bought me a CB500T for our anniversary (Aug 14) It was a barn find right down the road. I've been photo documenting the process along the way, but now that I'm getting into the more serious stuff, I wanted to be sharing my current status more regularly. Here goes...

For what ever reason I hate buying Made in China....Until Harbor Freight is having the deal of the century on everything and I walk outta there with my arms full.....Anyways Definite HF score, Nice Build keep up the good work

Master cylinder still needs rebuilt and painted.

And just a little cardboard mocking up of the seat and tail to get the basic geometries. This is just like Industrial Design School. Frankenstein prototyping!

Headlight Duct taped into position. I'm back and forth....I've always dug the dual headlight treatment so I might switch up to that once I see the tiny amount of light I'm expecting from this old light.

You, sir, have an awesome wife. I just looked at my soon to be (getting married on Sat) and told her that if she ever sees a 500t laying around... PICK IT UP!

Progress looks good so far. Like the frame blasting. Do yourself a favor and have someone else true those wheels up. I laced mine and that was a big enough pain in the ass. At any decent speed, that's one thing I would trust only a professional to do and one small fuck up could send you flying.

Hey mate, you might need to check the spokes on your rear wheel, it may just be the pic, but it looks like only half are laced correctly. In the photo where the wheel is fitted to the bike, the spokes on the lower half of the rim look right, but the top ones look a bit odd?

Coming along nicely though!

I totally had the order off by one which really screwed things up. All pulled out and redone being more careful this time.
I have them getting trued in a local garage.
