I am about to begin building my first café racer and I thought I would share the build as I go. I am a mechanical engineer by trade and have always been fascinated by these bikes and the people that built them classic British engineering at home in the shed or garage.
I have had a Yamaha sr 125 in the back of my garage since I moved on to larger bikes a good few years ago and have finally decided to see weather I can get it to do the ton. I'm going to be drawing information from all walks of life (hopefully lots from this forum) to gain as much power out of the little motor as possible and then to drop as much weight off the bike as possible.
I will then be taking the bike to Santa Pod to put it through its paces and try and reach the ton.
I will try and keep you all posted and I hope I can draw off your experiences and knowledge.
