First Cafe Style Bike 7 months and its done... CL 360

I'll be damned they look better than most I have seen, just about everyone else is too long and squished up.

Well I guess never really done... My transmission shifts again through all 6... the only problem now is a tuning issue, bike falls flat on its face when on gas, tinkered with points for hours, decided spark was fine, pulled carbs apart and yep one of my diaphrams has a bunch of holes in it....

I bought a set of these diaphragms that frogman posted the link for and then promptly broke a float pin arm in my carb body so I haven't been able to see how they work. When you buy them its just the rubber portion of the diaphragm- you have to take the old rubber off of your vacuum piston and then put the new diaphragm on it- so if the piston portion of your diaphragm is jacked up these are not for you. That being said this looks to be a quality product-they fit perfectly. One thing I don't care for is that they dont have the alignment nub on the rim of them so you have to make sure that you see how the piston is lined up on the original before you take the old rubber off- I am planning on painting a small red dot on them to make future alignment easier. The price is right though-19$ each plus shipping (which was 4 $ for 2 of them). The guy you talk to is the owner and he seems to be a straght up dude. I've got a replacement carb body coming from another DTT brother and when I get it running I'll post some pics and results

BTW g-machine, you mentioned having a parts 360. Do you have a decent sprocket cover with working shift mechanism (you know that spring deal with the ball bearing in the middle of it?)

Cheers

To be honest with you thats why I bought this parts bike was for that shift arm, mine could not be adjusted and kept popping out when I tightened clutch...sorry...

Thats exactly whats going on with mine-I thought it was the way I was adjusting it for the first 20 times I tried to set it-thanks anyways-I'll keep looking

the diaphragms were my problem, so I rebuilt carbs too and then I had a rear wheel problem. the bearings that come with the pivot works rear bearings are wrong, I did not realize the inside diameter was way bigger than stock bearing and put it together and busted rear hub on first test ride... pulled bearings from another set of wheels I have and they are completely different inside diameter and work perfect.......Runs and rides like a dream now..

They are sure fun little critters for their size. I have a blast on mine, just wish it would cool the hell off some more so I could.

well I took it out for a 15 mile ride today.. It runs really well... plugs seem to be a nice brownish tint.. I love riding this thing. It feels like im on a bicycle with a motor.. It does pop on deceleration a bit but it also has straight pipes.... Header wrap is still smoking like crazy, people must think im on fire at a stop light ;D Gonna register it on tuesday and make it my new daily driver so I guess I will have to let the Meanstreak go.. This site has been very helpful in choosing parts and just keeping me excited about the project.. thanks for following my build and im sure I will keep changing things so keep checking back...

got some more miles on her, gonna have to take valve cover off and use some more silicone, I have a slight leak.. other than that shes holding up like a tank... :)

What's the leak look like, I laid down a paper thin layer on mine and it hasn't leaked yet, well aside from my dumb ass not tightening the tappet caps down.

bike is super slick dude. sounds like it runs as good as it looks too.

Man I would need pratice before I would ever do that on my bike, obvisouly you have. The one in the middle should be your new avatar.
