Hey what's going on guys im new to this forum and to the world of motorcycle repair and customization. Im going to set aside my ego for this build as this is an unkown area for me as I do not know how to weld, wire, or rebuild an engine. Keep in mind ive only worked on my own car, but nothing as serious as a rebuild and rewire, but hey you need to start somewhere right? I picked up this bad little CB350 for next to nothing. It had no title, no keys, and apprx. 8k on the motor. It does not run, but the oil is clean and free of any sign of bottom end motor damage.

Ive started by washing as much grime off the bike as possible, then i started by stripping the odds and end (blinkers, gauges, throttle, mufflers) and ive moved on to draining the oil from the motor, my only problem is the bolt is rusted shut and im afraid to apply a propane torch to it, and also I do not want to force it and ruing the threading. Ill keep everybody posted and up to date as I go along. Thank you and any help I could get along the way would be great.

Welcome!

Start with the title...doesn't matter how well it runs if you can't take it anywhere...

Welcome to dtt.
I agree with Richard get the title first you do NOT want to finish your build just to find out you can't get a title.

As for the oil drain, hit it with the torch it won't hurt it.

The VIN on the motor is different from the VIN on the frame, I went to my local DMV and I filled out an RMV-1 form, but im not sure which VIN to put down, any suggestions on what to do in this situation guys?

Hey I knew your name looked familiar, Instagram right? Lol
Nice bike bro. Great starter I'd say. Good luck.

Oh yee! That's me, thanks man. Well one thing is for sure, your gonna have a lot more luck finding parts than I am. If there's a seat you don't wanna make you can just buy one off the shelf that's for sure. keep wrenchin brotha.

Title always follows the frame. The serial number on the motor doesn't matter.

Also, its no big deal at all, but you'll probobly get more reies to any questions if you start a build thread in the proper section of the forum.

Good luck with the title and the build.

Thanks man, I appreciate the help on the title, and as for the forum I had it in cafe but I think an admin had moved it, if someone could move it around again that would be stellar.

As for the build, or should I say dismantle, its going pretty smooth so far.

Everything has been drained, all odds and ends boxed and labeled, now im not really sure where to take this puppy. Any suggestions brochachos?

Kind of an open ended question there... Haha.

Do you have an idea of the finished bike in your head? That's important. Don't have to stick to that idea completely, but it helps to know where you're headed.

I originally wanted to bob this thing out, but as I got down to the frame I realized that this frame is ugly, fat and best suited for a cafe racer as hardtailing this bike just isn't worth it up here in good old pot hole massachusetts. Is it possible to extend this swing arm without spending a ton of $$$ on a longer suspension? I personaly know how honda car parts are easily adapted to different models, does this apply with honda motorcycles?
