FL School board shooting vid

This will prolly make it's way around today, but I wanted to post the unedited version first. Notice at 1:00 when the (awesome) lady comes in with a death scream, clocks the guy with a *purse AND NO ONE MOVES TO HELP HER. Those people are shot three minutes later. It just blows my mind YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

It was a purse and not a fire extinguisher. The shooter was the only one that got shot.

A purse is even ballsier. So the guy in the middle crumpled up because he thought he got shot or he's playing dead?

He "narrowly missed" the board members before being shot by a security guard and then taking his own life.
Personally, I think the whole "murder-suicide" thing is a Bitch move. Either be a man and take responsibility for your actions, or just kill yourself and be done with it.
And I agree, that lady has balls that clank.

so there was a guy in there with a gun as protection, like a police officer and he did not raise up instantly after the woman came and distracted him? Horrible fight or flight reaction by the officer if that is the case...that guy should have been taken out like the piece of shit he was...only before anyone else was hurt.

What surprised me was that he was such a bad shot that when he shot himself he didn't miss.

irony of it is only the innocent did their job. i bet his wife lost her job for not doing it properly. the guard in charge should have taken out the man at first site of the weapon. the gunman had no reasoning behind his actions either.

amazing, the stupidity of some people.

my mother works in the education field (assistant principal). When a teacher gets fired, its for good reason. and you have to have done something consistently wrong for a while to get fired.

Notice after the first shot he accidentally discharges the weapon into the floor. Thank God he sucked at using a hand gun!

Gotta give props to the guy asking him to let everyone ELSE go.

As far as asking why nobody shot this guy right away, ask a cop. Do you think that any law enforcement officer WANTS the death of another human being on their hearts? Until the guy fires the gun himself, theres no way to tell if its even a real gun. The man was obviously mentally ill. To an extreme I hope no one here ever has to witness.
The security guard who shot him was an ex-police officer. He acted in a way that shows restraint and training. What if he had fired at the man as soon as he entered the room full of people, and the bullet struck a fleeing civilian? What if he waited until most of the people were gone, and fired on the man and injured/killed one of the board members sitting a couple feet away?
For all he knew, the man could've had a water gun. When dealing with severly mentaly ill people, rash decisions can oft times be more dangerous than the person with the gun.
Im just glad no innocent people were hurt. Maybe if we lived somewhere that actually cared about the mentally ill, this all could've been avoided.

true dat.

My God! As a current five oh, I gotta say, that was a ballsy move by the school resource officer (inmost states, they are papered law enforcement officers)! The risk of shoot through was high being the actor was between the officer and the victims. It looks like he was a good shot!

I'm surprised nobody has asked the obvious question... How the hell did he get a gun inside a School Board Meeting WITH security?? Makes no sense to me... 'Course I carry just about everywhere I go, but that's just because Jacksonville is a gangsta city... ::)

Did this guy have a history of "Mental Illness"? Or some other record of not being able to tell the difference between Right and Wrong? Because "Temporary Insanity" as a defense, IMO, is bullshit. Obviously, "sane" people don't go on a "shooting spree".
And just to clarify, I'm not attacking Von or anyone elses opinion. I know alot of times on forums, posts are taken the wrong way because there's no "tone of voice". Believe me when I say, If I have a problem with someone or something, I'll be the first to say "You/that pissed me off". This is just a discussion.

But I will say that I have first hand experience with a paraniod/schizophrenic who went off his meds, and then went on a killing spree through his neighborhood. Shooting my Brother-in-law twice in the back with a shotgun (killing him instantly with the second shot), and severely wounding his 3yr old son that he was holding in his arms (all of the shot that hit him, passed through Danny first). And I can say, calmly and cool'ly, that even six years later I want nothing more than 10 minutes in a locked room with him. I don't want him dead, mind you. But I do want him coughing up blood while he begs for the sweet release of death.

Sooooo... you could say I'm a little "passionate" about the subject ;)

you got that right

they're damn lucky this dude was a bad shot  and whats with the guys on the end closest to the camera, after he starts shooting they just sit there, my ass would have hit the deck. they should have hopped up and rushed him when that chick clubbed him but i guess thats easy to say when you arent in the situation.
