Flashers stay on

After wiring in the new blinkers, they stay on but don't blink. So they aren't drawing enough power. Time for a new flasher relay i suppose. Seen some folks saying they're $5 on Amazon. I've only seen them for $12+ so I figure I'll just get one at the auto store. What have you guys used?

Just to add some more info (and for my own thinking out loud): the aftermarket turns I'm using have a black and black & white wire. B/W goes into ground, B goes into wiring harness to switch.

Buy the replacement relay that will work for LEDs, that way if you upgrade at a later date you wont need to replace the relay again. With bulbs it doesn't really matter which way the two wires go but does with LEDs.

How much watts are the lamps? multiply by 2 and thats what your relay needs to work at. Notlob's tip is a good one aswell, but you could have the problem of very fast blinkers :p

Thanks Bert. I'm going to replace the burnt out bulb and go from there. That couldn't have been it, could it? since the left side worked and the right front worked but didn't flash. I also bought a new flasher for $4 so we'll see if that does the trick once the bulb is in there.

Well biggie, when one light dies, the other one is responsible for the flasher-effect. That's probably why it was not working. The amount of wattage from 2 bulbs (one front and one rear) needs to be the same as the wattage on the relay.
