on this site alone there are a number of very good looking cb350 cafe racers. here in the uk most of the remaining cb350's are track bikes, very rare to see one on the road. As with many things american they often spark off an interest here in the uk. cafe racers are now under going a revival here.
i would like to guage interest in an item we are seriously thinking of manufacturing.

we are now the sole makers (using the original ta baker jigs and with the permission of mr terry baker)of the original tab frames for the cb350. these have been raced since the early 70's and winning.

we also manufacture the original tab swingarm.

most us based 350's are using the original frame and straight away it's obvious that the tab swingarm will not fit.
our plan is to manufacture a swingarm in the above style but which will fit hondas frame.
in std length and 2" over, which many racers prefer.

would there be an interest in these swingarms in the usa?

of course i'll happily sell you a whole frame, but shipping costs alone these days can be a little off putting...
thank you for your time...

I'm betting there'd be a lot of interest in a bolt-on swingarm. One major advantage is of course it can be fitted to a street bike :). Most of us I would suggest have our bikes on the road, which makes using a racing frame basically impossible from a licensing/insurance perspective. But swapping out a swingarm is no big deal.

Looks awesome - make one for the XS650 and you'll have loads of orders!

the only xs650 swingarm we have is a special. with the rear disc and 130 tyre.
i don't know how that differs from the earlier xs's

Thats pretty! Too bad the cost of a hand built frame is out of my budget at the moment.

Although, i'd definitely be interested in the swingarm to fit the factory frame.

could always chop up a honda frame, ship these guys the steering stem(which carries the vin) and have them weld that into the jig.. ;D

I like the use of eye mounts for the rear shocks on that swingarm. Would make it much easier to use higher end shocks that are unavailable in eye to clevis.

ive been thinking about brazing together my own frame....

If i were to take the vin and punch it onto the new frame- would i have any problems with the bike?

I doubt they could really say anything if the vin is in my name etc...

Well, you might get it on the road, but if you run over some old lady with it, your insurance company will look at the bike, look at you and laugh as that old lady takes your bank accounts, house, car, wages for the next 100 years etc. Same problem with modified frames etc.

Insurance companies are in business to collect money and NEVER give it away. They will do everything and anything to avoid paying out, including hiring experts to examine all aspects of an accident to look for any excuse to not pay out. Riding a highly modified bike registered and insured as something it clearly no longer is would qualify as one of those excuses.

One reason I'm in no hurry to do a rigid bobber. My life insurance policies are what would keep my family out of trouble if I bite it on my bike.

very good point tim. It actually kinda makes me wonder about the small frame mods Ive made to my cb350. Its nothing that should at all impede the safety performace of the bike, but who knows what the suits would have to say.
