Fork Bottom Damage/Oil seal damage

Hey guys, I have a two part question.

My front forks were leaving oil residue on the fork tubes upon expansion.
The PO said he recently replaced the oil seals but this problem persisted.
Currently I have the forks disassembled minus part of an oil seal. I pryed
out one seal easily the second one ripped. The oil seals appeared in good
shape and installed properly. So I hope new seals will fix this.

1) Any suggestions on how to get part of an oil seal out?
- already tried gasket remover
- can't boil it - my mom will murder me
2) Can you/how do you repair damage to the fork bottoms?

Both fork bottoms

Found damage to inside of fork bottom - should I be concerned about this

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

It looks like the outer steel ring has come adrift. It should be fairly easy to collapse that inwards and extract it. Dress that divot out with a scraper or dremmel using a very light touch and then flush the legs out of any debris.

Inspect the steel legs for gouges scrapes and pits that might be causing the leak.

Awsome. Thanks. I managed to get what was left of the oil seal out. I just needed a little heat then I could pinch it with pliars and collapse it out.

The PO definitly did not protect the fork when he was prying out the old old seals because there was similar marks on both fork lowers. Hopefully smoothing out the divots with a dremel and new seals will work. What about glazing putty, I hear you can fill scatches in car wheels with that stuff. Do you think I should try and fill the scapes with a glazing putty after?
