Freshening up...

I have a decision to make: semi-gloss or satin.

The tank is this cheap Wal-Mart brand (Color Place) satin black, the seat is Rustoleum semi-gloss black.

I'm leaning heavily towards the shiner semi-gloss. It's either go buy another can of the satin and paint the tail to match the tank, or use the half a can of semi-gloss that I still have and paint the tank to match the tail.

Of course, if I don't like how it looks, I can always repaint it...

I'm diein to see a good profile pic with the seat on.

Your bike is def one of a kind, hopefully that's a good thing. ;D

Sorry if this has been mentioned at some other point in the post, what kind of seat is that? I don't have a project that needs it at the moment but I really dig it.

It's an Airtech seat for a Yamaha TZ250, the late 80s U model.

I got the seat for $7 on eBay, it'd been campaigned heavily and had a lot of crash damage that'd been hastily repaired. The front portion had been cut off (unevenly), and there's no telling what bikes they'd mounted it to. There were TWENTY FOUR holes drilled in it for mounting purposes!

Ah-ha! That's the one...looks fantastic on your Kaw too!
You did a good job giving it yet another life...

The shiny votes took it:

I need to let it cure in the sunlight for another afternoon before I wet sand and compound and buff.

I worked yesterday on a hold-down strap for my battery:

Too complicated.

Simple and elegant, but doesn't allow clearance for the tailpiece.

Not as simple or elegant as I'd like, but I think it'll do the job.

What about some simple nylon webbing (back pack strap) and a couple D-rings? You'd be able to cinch it down well and it won't mar your frame.

Haha, right on, I never do paint jobs, per se. Most of my guitars have natural finishes, usually tung oil + urethane resin.

What is that guitar, who made it? Looks cool!

Check in the Selling section of the board - Pat sells self adhesive 1x2 foot sections of full 1" thick foam for $10.
