Fried Pamco

Loctite77

Yeah Son!
Yesterday I was headed out for a ride and about five miles the bike abruptly started running like shit, felt fuel starved like running out of gas. Came home and pulled plugs. 1-4 badly fouled. Hmmmm that's strange, installed new plugs in all 4 cylinders. Runs like shit won't idle, 1/4 cold. Finally diagnosed that the 1/4 side of the pamco was not sending the "fire" signal to the coil. There is power to the circuit board but when rotating the crank to the fire mark there is nothing to the green wire with a test light at the board. 2/3 side works perfectly but 1/4 nothing. Any suggestions? Obviously I'm going to try and cal Pamco Monday as this thing is only a few rides old.

Exact thing happened to me this month, after 1500km of use. Never heard from him unfortunately and had to buy another ignition.

I hope this isn't an issue endemic with the PAMCO, as I am installing one into my 360 here shortly. :-\

If you check other forums it is not uncommon, but of course more people complain then compliment when it comes to posting anything. I replaced mine with the newer updated one with e-advance. I couldnt get it to fire at the proper mark, I had to move the left side sensor board all the way to the left, then gently push the magnet on the board to the left until I finally got it to pick up.
So far so good. To me there are no alternatives, this is a true electronic ignition, unlike Charlies place etc.
Good luck

That's an interesting statement. How are the others on the market not true electronic?

They use the factory mechanical advance still. At least for cb450 they all do.

The Pamco I had also still used the factory mechanical advance as well.
