Front Disk From Another Bike

hi everyone been searching around here for awhile but never posted. my question is that i have a 21" front disk wheel that i am using on my cl350 but the issue that rises is i want to use the hub and rotor thats on the 21 and not my stock hub. has anyone ever modified and mounted a caliper other then stock cb/cl caliper on to the stock fork tube to do that?

im doing a bobber/brat build and just have a few last issues to work out before its completely tore apart and reassembled.
last winter the frame got powder coated along with alot of misc. parts and its semi cafeish but now turning bobber as thats what i like more. thanks for the help

oh yea i also have the whole front end off the other bike which is a 86 yz125. the steering stems are the same base size which gave me the idea to press out the stems and put my stem in the yz but the forks are so huge that it will look stupid with raising them in the clamps so much seeing as im trying to give the bike a slammed apperance already.

make a custom bracket out of aluminum stock that fits the new caliper but uses the original mount if the caliper is a swing type caliper. If its a sliding caliper (whats found on newer bikes) then make the mount solid. measure twice, cut once. dont overthink things here...

a little on your dimensions... first off the yz125 forks are going to be too long, plus not much of an upgrade to stock stuff.

a 21" wheel would be fine on a raked out front end, but will be too large on a stock setup. not to mention it will look pretty "hack" IMHO. and thats not even getting started on how it will handle.

anyone correct me if im wrong...

Not trying to put you off blucav... just keeping you from unnecesary problems.

if you want a disk front end that will bolt right up, find yourself a cb550 or 750 or 500t front end or 450 or any of the other honda bikes with the 35mm forks. youll need the triple trees and a set of bearings for the stem but otherwise its a bolt on and go. plus no playing around with brackets and stuff. plus its a huge upgrade over stock forks in terms of performance.

Changing out the entire front end is a far easier option than trying to mate up odd sized discs / wheels / axles / bearings.

BTW - you can shorten your YZ forks internally:

If you don't have spacers up on top of your fork springs, you can cut the springs down to suit ;)

Well the bike is gonna be stretched and slamed so I'm basicly losing all handling there. I think I'm gonna look into lowering the yz forks internally and just swap out the steering stems. The stems have the same base size bearing according to the chart over on ohiocaferacer. So I'll just pressmine out and put it in the yz and shorten the springs or spacers and if I have to raise the fork I. The tree also. I just want some suspension here lol

if your stretching it and slamming it, the front end will either ride too high or youll have clearance issues unless if the front is raked out for additional clearance. i think itll look cool as shit if its raked and stretched, but only a stretch is a no go in my book. you could get away with a raked front end and the longer forks just fine though.
