Front Guard trim down and a total do over begins.

Hi guys, has anyone cut their front guard down? I'm thinking a bit off the front and a bit more off the rear.

Do you think I'd need to keep the brace on each side of the guard or get away with removing it all together, which would be my preference.

This is the start of the pulling apart plain to start the full on customisation and repaint, as my Harley is due at the end of the month I'm planning going nuts on the wee beast!!!

Any ideas of thoughts on the front guard or any ideas about what you think I could do to it would be appreciated. The plan is to completely redo the whole bike, repaint, remodel in a kind of a modern steam punk fibe over our winter. I'm down the bottom of the world :)

So, thoughts?

Whatever you do, you definitely need some form of brace still at the front end, otherwise forks get twisted, the current mudguard is definitely structural. Others have removed it completely only to realize they need it back pretty quickly.
