fuel hose routing

Hey guys i am new to the CB450 but i was wondering what are the two tubes at the rear of the tank .....vent lines ? If so do they "T" together or stay separate? They did not have hoses on them when i got the bike.

From what the manual states....the lines coming from the petcock are the lines that go to the carbs. But cant find anything on the tubes at the rear of the tank.

think i may have figured it out.....the tank cap is a vent so the tubes must be balance lines to keep the fuel even on both sides of the tank. If anyone else knows different please tell me.

I've never heard of these before. The only time I've seen another line on a tank aside from the fuel supply is when the filler cap is recessed and there is a drain hole in the recessed area to drain water and/or fuel.

It's a fuel balance tube connected from one side of the tank to the other. It flows fuel from the left side to the right side where the petcock is.

That re-enforces what i was thinking...thanks friend.

Dr J knows stuff.

This allows you to run right out of gas. Bikes w/o that line can usually be tipped waaay over to get at the gas on the other side so you can make it to the next station. ( done that a few times)
