fuel line from tank to carb, too long?

Hey, do you guys think you really need as straight as possible line from tank to carb?

i put a new tank on (new to me) and i put a inline filter between petcock and carb, i'm wondering if i have too much line or it is not downward enough? or once started will it suck it through?

As long as the tank is above the carbs, and you dont have a crazy kink in your line, you should be fine.

+1 and you want some extra length for when you wanna prop up the end of the tank to make extra room for doing some work in the area under the tank. And it also allows you to trim off a bit if you end up with a split in the line at either end etc.
